Unfurl is based in the tropics of Broome, Western Australia. 

Set against the backdrop of turquoise tides and the warm, ochre pindan earth, our designs are inspired to be perfect for balmy nights, sultry breezes, and effortless wearing.

Unfurl was born in 2002. Unable to find clothing that expressed her creative, nomadic nature, Monica began reinventing her wardrobe. With the abundant requests to replicate what she was wearing, Monica began designing and constructing her first collection. 

The dream to travel and create, selling at markets and festivals around Australia began unfurling, though Broome was the wistful heart that kept magically calling her back.

From a young age, the whirr of Singer sewing machines and the yarn of immigrants surrounded Monica. Sitting by her German Oma, soaking in the skills required to construct quality garments, a warming familiarity and an awareness of the solidarity of Women was born. This, together with her Mother’s funky mix of colour and silhouettes in the 70’s, is the nostalgia that has become the cornerstone of Monica’s designs.

Every Unfurl piece is now designed in Broome WA and manufactured in an ethical factory in Bali by a team of skilled artisans, using only natural fibres.
